Ryan, Collier join The Rampart team

Marty Ryan has been appointed financial controller for Rampart Casino at The Resort at Summerlin.

For the past two decades, Ryan has held financial accounting positions with several gaming institutions including the Riviera Hotel & Casino, Ellis Island, the Hilton organization, the former Showboat and the defunct Dunes and Landmark casinos.

Also appointed to an executive post at the Rampart Casino is Ron Collier who will become a casino host at the facility. He spent many years with the Caesars World Inc. and Park Place Entertainment Corp., and its predecessor organization, Hilton Hotels, Inc.

Bruce Hinckley, for several years chief financial officer of Pinnacle Entertainment Inc., has resigned his position to maintain his residence in Southern California. The company is moving its corporate offices to Las Vegas.

Succeeding Hinckley will be Steve Capp, former managing director of a division of Bear, Stearns & Co. in New York.

Prior to joining Bear Stearns, Capp was managing director for BancAmerica Securities in San Francisco where he focused on debt financing transactions for gaming companies.

Riviera Holdings Corporation has named Ronald Johnson as president and general manager of the Riviera Black Hawk, Colo. Casino. He replaces Sean Sullivan who left the company.

Longtime gaming executive Greg Shay has joined Venture Catalyst Incorporated of San Diego, a professional services and software provider to the gaming and hospitality industry. Shay¡¦s position will be that of president and chief operating officer. He also will be named to the company¡¦s board of directors.

Shay was senior vice president of gaming at Casino Windsor in Windsor, Canada, and held a similar position at The Venetian Resort/Hotel in Las Vegas. Prior to that, he was vice president of operations at The Rio Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
