It’s Kentucky and the rest

Mar 18, 2003 6:32 AM

It’s time to break down the NCAA Tournament, the best time of season for Las Vegas books other than the Super Bowl.

MIDWEST:

This looks like the easiest to forecast as Kentucky looks much the best in its early battles and looks to face either Pittsburgh or Marquette in the Sweet 16.

WEST:

Looks like Arizona will face either Kansas or an up and coming young Duke squad. The Blue Devils could be peeking at the right time. Also, Memphis is playing tough. Teams capable of pulling upsets are Gonzaga, Illinois and Creighton.

SOUTH:

Looks like a lot of upset shots here as Texas, U.Conn, Stanford, Maryland, Xavier and Florida all have a good look at the Sweet 16. This bracket is just screaming to "take the points."

EAST:

This look like a crap shoot also with Oklahoma, Miss St. Louisville, Syracuse and Wake Forest with the best shot. If coaching counts, look for Louisville to be headed to the Sweet 16.
