Keno Lil | Another popular eight spot partition is the ticket grouped 2-2-1-1-1-1. Applying the knowledge we’ve gained, using either the bridge system, the rule of the twins, or our total way formula, we know that there are 63 total ways on this ticket:

1-Way-8, 4-Way-7, 8-Way-6,12-Way-5,

14-Way-4, 12-Way-3, 8-Way-2, 4-Way-1

Long time readers here will recall that my two favorite tickets are 5-spots and 8-spots, so here is a ticket I can heartily recommend: A 1-way-8 and a 12-way-5.

The odds against hitting on the 8-spot are the same as a straight ticket. Here are the odds for one against for the paying catches on the 12-way-5:

5/5 163.52

4/5 13.68

3/5 3.16

Is this the best 12-way-5? No, the best 12-way-5 is marked using 16 numbers, grouped 3-3-3-2-2-2-1, with respective odds of 135.20, 9.37, and 2.08 for one against.

On a scale of one to five spikes, with five being the highest, Keno Lil rates the eight and 12 fives: 5 spikes
