Bicycle’s Mini-Series
parallels World Series

Apr 16, 2003 9:46 PM

The Bicycle Casino this week launches a month long series of poker events that gives players a chance to play for a seat in a comparable event at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

In the past, The Bicycle Casino’s Mini-Series of Poker (MSOP) has run concurrently with each event at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

In an effort to give players an opportunity to compete in the same event in the World Series of Poker, the Mini-Series of Poker schedule has been moved up by one day.

The winner of each event will be awarded airfare to Las Vegas and a room at the Golden Nugget, across the street from Binion’s Horseshoe, site of the World Series.

This year’s event also features a $10,000 Best All-Around Points Championship playoff, to be held on Sunday, May 18 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., followed by the main event, No-Limit Hold’em with a comparatively nominal buy-in of $500/$40!

There are 35 events on the schedule, with buy-ins ranging from $25 to $500 (compared to the $500-$10,000 buy-ins at the World Series of Poker).

The Mini-Series of Poker is a poker series that was created for tournament players who don’t want to pay for or can’t afford the extravagance of the World Series.

Daily satellites for each event will begin at 2 p.m., Monday-Friday, and 11 a.m., Saturday and Sunday. Main events begin at 7:15 p.m., Monday-Friday and 4:15 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
