Station plans $100K BJ tourney

Apr 29, 2003 3:17 AM

Station Casinos is encouraging blackjack players at Palace Station, Boulder Station, Texas Station, Green Valley Ranch Station, Santa Fe Station and Sunset Station to qualify for its $100,000 Spring Blackjack Tournament though June 27, 2003.

To qualify, players must be invited by management or have a combination of hours played multiplied by the average bet equal to 600. For example, 60 hours played at $10 per bet or 6 hours played at $100 per bet would qualify the player to advance to the $100,000 tournament.

Each participating property will conduct a satellite tournament July 10-12. The tournament schedule consists of two days of registration (Thursday and Friday), followed by three rounds of play.

Entry into the tournament is free. Each player will start with $1,000 in tournament chips at the beginning of each round. The minimum bet is $50 in increments of $10 with a maximum bet of $1,000. Each round consists of 25 hands.

There will be three rounds of tournament play, with several sessions within each round. All players are invited to play in one session in each of the three rounds. All players must participate in a minimum of two sessions.

The top 30 players from each property, a total of 180, will advance to the All Property Finals at Texas Station to be held Sunday, July 13, and will compete for the following cash prizes:

First Place $5,000

Second Place $1,000

Third Place $750

Fourth Place $500

Fifth Place $250

Sixth-30th Place $100

There is no entry fee for the final round at Texas Station on July 13. Each player will start with $1,000 in tournament chips at the beginning of each round. The minimum bet is $50 in increments of $10 with a maximum bet of $1,000. Each round consists of 25 hands.

There will be two semi-final rounds of tournament play, with several sessions within each round. All players must participate in a minimum of two sessions. The top five players at the conclusion of the semi-finals will advance to the final round.

In addition, there will be a random drawing, which will include all the players at the All Property tournament or the satellite tournaments who qualified to play for one additional player to advance to the final round.

The final round players will compete for the following cash prizes based on their final round scores:

First Place: $25,000

Second Place $10,000

Third Place $2,500

Fourth Place $1,250
