Next month, Commerce Casino’s 2003 California State Poker Championship will offer poker players a chance to compete for about $600,000 in guaranteed prize money.

The tournament will feature two $250,000 guaranteed limit hold’em events, as well as a $20,000-added no limit hold’em event. Scheduled for June 6-22, the 16-event tournament posts $40,000 in best all around player awards and $10,000 in best all around super satellites.

One-table satellites begin on May 28 and the super satellites will commence Friday, June 6. Since space is limited and hotel accommodations are available on a first come-first served basis, tournament participants are advised to call the Crowne Plaza Hotel at Commerce Casino to secure hotel reservations in advance.

Commerce Casino will also be hosting two special seven card stud hi-lo events over the next few weeks: a $5,000-added stud hi-lo tournament with a $100+10 buy-in on May 30 and a $10,000 added stud hi-lo tournament with a $100+10 buy-in on June 23.

Although all interested participants can get in on the action by paying the $100+10 buy-in option, Commerce Casino players will be automatically eligible for a free tournament entry for the June event upon accumulating 40 hours of live play in the stud hi-lo section from May 31 through June 23.

In addition to year-round tournament draws, Commerce Casino’s daily action comes with the promise of jackpot payouts for players holding qualifying hands in virtually all casino games. With over $8.3 million in jackpot cash awarded to poker players in the last 12 months, Commerce Casino continues to offer players a myriad of ways to cash-in on jackpot prize money throughout the casino. In fact, Commerce Casino recently added jackpot incentives to its California games section.

In addition to its renowned poker action, the Los Angeles based casino also provides players with round-the-clock opportunities to play "No Bust" Blackjack, Caribbean Stud, Mexican Poker, Pan, and other popular California games.

While focusing on fast paced California gaming, Commerce Casino recently graduated from a casino property to a casino/hotel property. Indeed, the new Crowne Plaza Hotel at Commerce Casino offers the amenities of a luxurious Las Vegas property.

Aside from the aesthetics, the upscale hotel also features a new Arena Sports Bar & Grill. Poker action aside, first rate accommodations and amenities are now a mere chip’s toss away from the gaming tables at Commerce Casino.
