Senior promotions announced

Two executive promotions were announced by officials at Shuffle Master Gaming Inc. (SHFL) last week.

Named senior vice president of product management was David Lopez, a 2000 graduate of UNLV who joined the company in1998. He originally was hired as a marketing analyst and was later promoted to product manager. Last year, he again was promoted, this time to the post of executive director of product management.

Promoted to vice president of operations was Greg Gronau, who has been with the company since August 2002. He previously was vice president of distribution and service for WMS Gaming Inc. (WMS).

Still firming up its top level executive family, Park Place Entertainment Corp. (PPE) has promoted Bernard E. DeLury, Jr., to senior vice president and general counsel, and Steven F. Bell to senior vice president for human resources and administration.

DeLury has been a member of the PPE team since its was formed as a spin off of Hilton Gaming in 1998. He served as vice president and deputy general counsel, responsible for the company’s regulatory compliance and legal operations.

Bell joined the company in 1991 after serving as senior vice president for human resources for Teligent Inc.

Charly Paelinck is the new vice president of IT development at Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. (HET). He previously was affiliated with several Fortune 400 companies and most recently led a consulting firm that he founded.
