Winning $280,000 is a family affair!

Jun 10, 2003 2:04 AM

Last week, James Bennett of Las Vegas hit Station Casinos’ Jumbo Bingo Progressive for $147,000. He was playing at Texas Station when he won the jackpot in a 54-number coverall during the 11 a.m. session.

The Jumbo Bingo Jackpot was the second for the Bennett household; last year, James’ wife, Jennifer, rung up a bingo award for $133,584.

"I still remember the last three numbers, 39, 15 and 59," said James from his home. "Before I could even finish marking the last number, Jennifer, my wife, was jumping up and down screaming we had won. I couldn’t believe it. I was in shock."

James and Jennifer are the first husband and wife team in the winners circle of Jumbo Bingo Winners at Station Casinos. Together, they’ve won over $280,000 playing Jumbo Bingo at Texas.

James said since moving to Las Vegas two years ago after retiring from a 40-year career in the military and government service, they’ve made so many friends at Texas and don’t play anywhere else.

"Our jackpot winnings have changed our lives, we’re definitely more comfortable," he said. "But nothing really has changed. We still play at Texas because we love Paul our host and all the other friends we have there. Everyone cheered when we won."

James is the 24th winner of the Station Casinos Jumbo Bingo Progressive Game. Jennifer was the tenth.

Jumbo Progressive Bingo is a linked game connecting the bingo rooms at Palace Station, Boulder Station, Texas Station, Sunset Station and Santa Fe Station. The progressive games are broadcast live to all the participating casinos each day.

The Jumbo Bingo Progressive game sessions are at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m., 7 p.m., 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. at participating Station Casinos. Complete rules for the progressive game are available in the rooms.
