To spice up the activities, the LVIHRS will feature action-packed competition including the Housekeeping Challenge, Flair Bartending Competition and Las Vegas Culinary Competition.

More than 264 housekeepers from 25 major Las Vegas hotels will put their hospitality skills to test when they go bed to head in four events.

The hospitality competition seeks out the quickest and cleanest housekeepers to make beds, toss a buffer pad while blindfolded to a person holding a toilet plunger, throw five Johnny mops into a toilet bowl and vacuum up confetti in a vacuum relay.

The event takes place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday.

In one event, housekeeping personnel will be judged in a timed bed-making competition in appearance and neatness.

In another, a blindfolded contestant will try to toss five buffer pads to a person 20 feet away holding a toilet plunger in the buffer pad toss.

Then contestants will throw five Johnny mops into a toilet bowl from a distance of 20 feet.

And finally, in the vacuum relay, contestants must put together a disassembled vacuum cleaner, vacuum a 4 ft. by 6 ft. area free of confetti and proceed to the finish line with the vacuum off.

The Culinary Challenge will be held Wednesday and Thursday, when chefs will face off in heated competition.

This challenge will include a hot food competition and cold salon, and will be judged according to American Culinary Federation Guidelines.

The highlight of the competition will be the Flair Bartending Competition, to be held Wednesday and Thursday.

More than 50 of the world’s most talented flair bartenders will flip, juggle and twirl bottles of liquor at the Battle of the Flair Gods competition.

Local and international bartenders are expected to perform choreographed routines and compete in a male, female or tandem category.

Competitors will be tasked with showcasing their style, music choice and entertainment skills.

Judging will be based on originality, smoothness, variety, difficulty, overall routine and crowd reaction.

Contestants will be drawn from such popular nightspots as the Shadow Bar at Caesars Palace, Kahunaville at TI, Carnival Court at Harrah’s Las Vegad, Crazy Armadillo at Stratosphere, Road Runner bars and Voodoo Lounge at the Rio.
