Cheap fun around the hotel pools has become even better. The Las Vegas Hilton has reduced the admission ticket to their fabulous pool parties by $15, lowering the price from $40 down to $25! Summer Pool Parties will be held on June 28, July 12, 19, 24, August 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.

Las Vegas locals can get an even better deal. If you’re a local, ask for the Hometown Hot Spot sticker to be placed on your Connection Club card (free to join) and you’re entitled to tickets at half price! Party admission includes picnic style food favorites like hamburgers, hot dogs and even a roasted pig on a spit. Drink from a bottomless keg of Miller Beer while you party with the Miller Beer Girls, too. Additional fun activities include limbo and leg contests and a chance to win a Jeep Wrangler. Hours for the parties are 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. For advance tickets and/or more information, call 1-702-732-5755.

Pool Parties don’t get much better than free as the Flamingo Las Vegas takes the party "Down Under." Party at the Flamingo ”” Australian style, that is. Pool parties have commenced just in time to kick off the summer season.

Throughout the summer, everyone is welcome to stop by the Flamingo and take a journey "Down Under with Fosters." Guests may enjoy 2-for-1 frozen drinks and Fosters Beer, and reasonably priced Australian barbecue with steak and shrimp on the "Barbie," Aussie burgers and much more.

There will be prize giveaways throughout the evening along with live entertainment and dancing. Pool party guests may also register to win a 2003 Jeep Wrangler. The festivities take place from 4 p.m. to midnight everyday through September 1. Admission to the pool parties is free and open to the public.

In the meantime, Sahara pool parties have come and gone. They just got under way and were abruptly cancelled after the first week. And the Hard Rock has put a stop to its Wednesday "Sex on the Beach" parties, to take a couple weeks off, revamp, and then announce their new party plans. Stay tuned!

For the meal deals of the week, try the chicken fried steak special at both (Decatur and Boulder Hwy.) Arizona Charlie’s Sourdough Café for $4.99. The complete dinner is available 24/7, but you must show your Ultimate Rewards slot club card to get the special price. Of course, the club is free to join.

The San Lorenzo Italian Restaurant at Texas Station would make another excellent cheap choice this month. All-you-can-eat pasta specials are available every day with entrees starting at just $6.99.
