Padres -135 vs Dodgers (7): The Dodgers are glad to see anyone but Jake Peavy after the San Diego ace tossed a complete game 2-hitter last night to raise his career mark against LA to 10-1. Los Angeles is no stranger to low scoring games so far, going 4-1 under the total. That plays right into the Padres scheme of winning with pitching and timely hitting. Both San Diego starter Chris Young (1-0, 1.59 ERA) and LA right-hander Derek Lowe (0-0, 3.00) had impressive opening outings.
In both of Peavy’s starts, the posted total was an anemic 6˝ and each time the game went under. Getting 7 with two quality pitchers known for keeping the ball in the infield, we’re expecting a 2-1 or 3-2 game. Both bullpens are solid. UNDER.
