Hamptons casino talk is just that

The Hamptons, a Long Island summer playground, will look more like a battleground over the issue of a planned casino.

Last week, the New York state attorney general’s office obtained a temporary restraining order barring the Shinnecock tribe from starting construction of the 65,000 square-foot casino.

"What this is about is economic self-sufficiency," Land Gumbs, a leader of the Shinnecocks told the Associated Press. "This is not about becoming rich, and it is not about stockpiling money. This is about sustaining life."
