From July 30 through September 3, The Bicycle Casino hosts one of their largest poker tournaments of the year, the Legends of Poker.

With an estimated prize pool of over $2,000,000, including five guaranteed events totaling nearly a half-million dollars, plus 10 new events slated for this year, this tournament brings together some of the best players from across the country for a month long competition.

Along with the cash awards, the tourney will crown the World’s BEST Poker Player. The top point holder not only wins a seat into the $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em Championship event beginning on September 1, but will participate in what promises to produce a truly legendary all-around poker player.

This year’s Point Playoff actually gives more players the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities with a Best All-Around Points Championship Playoff of Hold’em, Omaha Hi-Lo, 7-Card Stud, 7-Card Stud Eight or Better and No-Limit Hold’em at the final table.

With this coveted title goes a 2003 Hummer and $500 in cash.

Some of the new events include an "All Casino" Employee Limit Hold’em $100/20 event on July 30; $1,000/$60 Lowball World Championship event on August 13; a Pot-Limit Omaha $500/$40 event with one re-buy on August 25; and an E.O. World Championship Stud Hi-Lo/Omaha Hi-Lo $1,000/$60 on August 27.

Topping off the new calendar is a very special $3,000/$75 Mariani/Buss Charity Open that is a half hold’em and half stud tournament benefiting the Magic Johnson Foundation on Sunday August 31, followed by the No-Limit Hold’em Championship, celebrating the Bicycle Casino’s participation in the second year of the World Poker Tour.

This year, players can win a seat into the WPT/LOP Championship on Aug. 31 in one of several ways. Winners of qualifying Super Satellite events could win a seat, and if they are the top Points Holder, they’ll earn a seat. Three lucky winners in second through fourth place standings of the Points Championship tournament on August 30 will also be awarded a seat in this coveted $5,000 event.
