NL: The sad news from Frisco regarding the death of Bobby Bonds will keep superstar son Barry away for awhile. That makes the Giants a very risky betting propostion. Without Barry in the lineup, SF is just another team. Prices could be right to go against G-Men this week.

AL: The Detroit Tigers are so bad (-700 last week) they became the first team to crack the 4,000 mark. That’s negative 4Gs, but most smart bettors have profited from such ineptness. The Tigers have taken much of the risk out of betting the run line. Give 1.5, 2.5, 3.5....
