As Silverton Hotel Casino continues their multi-million expansion and remodeling project, the newest addition is the Shady Grove Lounge. Covering approximately 2,500 square feet and occupying the space formerly known as Rattlesnake Ricky’s, Shady Grove is both fun and nostalgic with a life-size Air Stream trailer that houses Bowlingo ”” two miniature bowling lanes and a giant oak tree that creates an intimate, outdoors feeling in the bar and lounge area.

Shady Grove is open 24 hours, although bar service is only from noon until 2 a.m. (Say what? In Las Vegas?) Amenities include billiard tables, big screen plasma televisions, and large, overstuffed leather couches and chairs. Happy hour specials are available every Tuesday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. that include free appetizers, $1 domestic draft beer and $2 premium draft beer.

Can’t find good pirate stuff these days? You may not have to continue to search. Treasure Island, now known as just TI, will auction more than 500 items of pirate memorabilia on Saturday, September 27 beginning at 10 a.m. as part of the property’s evolution. Items to be auctioned include one-of-a-kind leather trunks, swords, custom paintings, pirate costumes, hand-painted wooden pirate sculptures, a gilded settee, and two rare bone chandeliers valued at $500,000 each. The preview is Friday, September 26 from noon until 4 p.m. You just never know where or when a bargain may appear!
