10 a.m. belongsto NFL favorites

The 10 a.m. NFL games were a landslide for the favorites, 7-0 both SU and ATS. Harrah’s race and sports director Jack Frost was the only member of the esteemed Bookies Battle panel to tab all seven, but there were a number of 6-1 cards.

Of the seven, the betting money came on the side of the losing team in four of the early contests. However, the house took a major hit in the Tampa Bay-Atlanta contest with the line opening at 3½ for the Bucs and climbing to six by kickoff.

Also, it may be time for a quarterback switch in Jacksonville. Mark Brunell threw for less than 100 yards against the Colts. Rookie Byron Leftwich entered late and tossed a TD pass.

FYI: The Fiesta Rancho horse race contest bonus pool has reached $2,030. More on the casino resort’s promotion next week.
