The Western Conference continues to host the best basketball, and tonight’s no exception as the Phoenix Suns travel to San Antonio for a pivotal match-up. The Spurs, which have won nine of their last 10, are just 1˝ games behind New Orleans and would like a win here to put pressure on the Hornets. The Suns would like to knock off San Antonio to get closer to that fifth playoff spot. The Suns took the last meeting (on March 3), 94-87, fueled in part by the inside play of Shaq, who sat out Monday’s game with a hip contusion. His status for tonight hasn’t been announced. Without Shaq, Phoenix will be hard-pressed to roll into San Antonio, where the Spurs are 32-6, and pull off a victory. Moreover, the Spurs have been stifling on defense of late, holding opponents to only 85 points a game over their last 10. With San Antonio’s recent resurgence, the Spurs should get by the Suns tonight in a low-scoring contest. San Antonio -6, Under 199.
