Boston Bruins at Montreal Canadiens (-200): After sweeping the season series (8-0) and winning 11 straight against the Bruins, Montreal is definitely in the driver’s seat in this series. As the series heads to Beantown Tuesday night, expect Montreal to be on its best behavior north of the border and will take advantage of an injured B’s squad which lost an incredible 360 man games to injury this regular season. Les Habs’ rookie goalie Carey Price (24-12-3; 5-0, 2.17 GAA vs. Bruins) is a big advantage in goal compared to Boston’s Tim Thomas and the number of Canadiens’ scoring threats outnumber the Bruins’. CANADIENS. (BEST BET).
Dallas Stars at Anaheim Ducks (-175): Although the Stars won the season series (5-3) and were 2-1 in Anaheim, Dallas seemed to lose a lot of momentum in the last month of the season and can’t feel good about how they were playing (3-7 L10) heading into the postseason. The Stanley Cup champs, on the other hand, ended the season on an 8-2 spurt and with the Niedermayers, Getzlaf and Selanne in tow, can hang with anybody. The Ducks were 28-9-4 at home, among the best in the NHL, and are simply playing better hockey at this point in time than Dallas. DUCKS.
