Hot dogs help
take down KC

The pop heard around the world.

That was the cork from the champagne bottle you heard last Sunday as the ”˜72 Dolphins partied heavily into the night after the Kansas City Chiefs’ first setback of the year. What an amazing nine win run it was! Unimaginable in this era of the NFL. However, the KC 8-2 mark against the point spread is every bit as awesome.

Last week was just the third time the dawgs outnumbered the favorites and it was only by a 9-6 margin. Home dogs were off the hook for the second straight week, going 3-0. The home puppies have hung a 7-1-1 sign over their doghouse the last two weeks.

Colts (—3) at Bills: No one circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills? Ironically, Redskins are the only team Buffalo has beat and scored more than 12 points against in the last five games. Bills haven’t scored a TD in three games. What’s going on with Bledsoe and the passing game? Bills can’t score points even when Travis Henry goes over 100 yards! COLTS.

Jags (+5) at Jets: Jacksonville, without a doubt, is the best 2-8 team in the NFL. Jags have covered two straight, beating the Colts straight up and nearly sending the Titans into OT last week. JAGS.

Seahawks (PK) at Ravens: Seattle hasn’t won a road game since September, but Hasselbeck is lighting up the scoreboard. Baltimore is removing the light bulbs from its scoreboard. Hasselbeck over Anthony Wright. SEAHAWKS.

Saints (+5½) at Eagles: What a run Donovan McNabb is on! Eagles riding a five game win streak. Four times McNabb led comebacks of at least four points in the fourth quarter. Saints have won four of their last five games and the one loss was in OT to Carolina. Feeling is McAllister’s streak of 100-yard games will end at 7. But Saints should keep game tight. SAINTS.

Steelers (+3) at Browns: The Browns thumped Steelers in Week 5, 33-13. Cleveland will have Holcomb at QB which improves its chances of a season sweep. Steelers will be playing second straight road game and coming off Monday night West Coast swing. Looks like Davis grabbed the Browns attention with the release of Kevin Johnson. BROWNS.

49ers (+4) at Packers: I don’t care how good Tim Rattay looked against St. Louis. I’ll take my chances with Brett Favre, along with his bad thumb over Rattay. Niners haven’t won a road game this season! Hold onto the ball Ahman! PACKERS.

Lions (+10) at Vikings: Not sure what to think about Minnesota. Vikes ran off six straight wins to start the year. The G-men finally exposed their weaknesses on defense and a four-game losing streak is now their most recent history. Lions playing as poorly as Vikes and haven’t won a road game this season or last. But they don’t have to win this one. Just cover baby! LIONS.

Panthers (+1) at Cowboys: Carolina 8-2 with a big three-game lead in NFC South. Six of the eight wins have been by three points or less. Three of those six tight victories have come on the road. Another close call. PANTHERS.

Patriots (-4) at Texans: Carr left Bills game early, but Banks was able to do the job. Moving the ball against Pats defense will be a tough task. Belichick has graduated from pupil to master teacher. No longer in Parcells’shadow after Super Bowl win many moons ago and big shutout of Cowboys just a few moons ago. PATS.

Bears (+10) at Broncos: The Broncos’ D was leaky? What do you do when you have a leak? You bring in a Plummer. Jake Plummer adds so much punch to this offense it’s scary. Plummer keeps the defense off the field and rested. Broncos might be able to make late playoff run now that the leaks are plugged. BRONCOS.

Rams (-7½) at Cards: Greatest show on turf has gone dark the last three weeks after scoring over 30 four straight weeks. Arizona RB Marcel Shipp was a star for two weeks. Now he’s disappeared into the Arizona sky. Time for the shooting star to reappear! CARDS.

Titans (—9) at Falcons: Can’t believe Kurt Kittner’s team has covered the spread the last two weeks. Dunn has made life easy for Kurt lately. Titans are tops against the run and will force Kittner to beat them with his arm. Won’t happen this week. TITANS.

Raiders (+11) at Chiefs: You can’t have you’re "A" game for all 16 weeks. Chiefs will be right back to scoring 30 points. Oakland busy taking steroids and gloating after winning third game and covering first point spread since the AFC Championship game last season! CHIEFS.

Skins (+6) at Dolphins: Two weeks ago Spurrier allowed the offensive coordinator to call all the plays. Last week he worked only with the defense. Don’t know exactly what he’s up to but Skins have done nothing but win money since Spurrier started coaching less! SKINS.

Giants (+5) at Bucs: Is there a heartbeat in the Tampa Bay offense? I can’t detect a pulse. Bucs D needs some help on the other side of the ball. Both teams are self-destructing but will dig deep for big effort on national TV to stave off playoff elimination. GIANTS.

Last week: 8-7

Season: 82-74-3

Best Bets: Skins, Giants, Seahawks
