Montreal Canadiens at Boston Bruins: The best bet in hockey these days, taking the Canadiens against the Bruins has become a knee-jerk reaction for those in the know. When streaks are streaking it’s obviously best to ride them out and if Les Habs sweep the B’s, remember this megatrend for next season. Montreal put up two goals in no time in the opener then concentrated on clamping down on defense in its 4-1 victory.

In net, Montreal rookie Price was awesome in Boston, allowing just seven goals in the four regular season games there (1.75 GPG). And after allowing just one goal in the opener, expect Price to be a virtual brick wall in goal. And with the Canadiens now getting scoring from places like the Kostitsyn brothers, their offense is just as impressive as their defense. CANADIENS. (BEST BET).

New Jersey Devils at New York Rangers: Just too many problems scoring for the Devils who lost one of their biggest threats – Scott Gomez – to these Rangers in the offseason. Asking goalie Martin Brodeur to stand on his head every game to carry his team through the playoffs is a bit too much with almost everyone in the East having improved offensively this season. New York improved to 8-1 on the season in the series with its win in the series opener Wednesday and with Jagr, Gomez, Shanahan and Drury in the Blueshirts, the Rangers can get scoring from a number of guys. RANGERS.
