Although the plan to redevelop the tiny Bourbon Street hotel-casino has been percolating for about five years, county planners will get an update at their meeting on Dec. 18.
Owned by Michael Block, Bourbon Street is an off-Strip hotel with a slot casino operated by United Coin.
Block is currently undergoing the licensing process with Nevada regulators.
The existing four-story hotel is earmarked to be replaced with a 32-story tower that would contain about 660 timeshare units and 182 guest rooms.
In addition, the common areas including casino and restaurants would double in size.
Currently there are about 225 slot machines in the casino but no table games, sports or poker. There is also a lounge, coffee shop and service bar.
