Go to Asia for Chinese New Year!

Asia, the acclaimed Asian restaurant at Harrah’s Las Vegas, is offering a Chinese New Year dinner available to celebrate the year of the Monkey.

From January 21-27, visit Asia for exclusive Chinese New Year specialties, such as the dragon appetizer, fried rice wrapped in lotus leaf, Hong Kong won ton soup with seafood taley and tempura soft shell crab. Dining is served beginning at 5:30 p.m. Regular hours of operation are Friday through Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. Although not required, reservations are recommended and may be made by calling (702) 369-5084.

Rampart Casino in the Marriott Resort at Summerlin has a new steak and shrimp special for $12.99 now available 24 hours a day in the Promenade Café. The entrée is a 12-ounce USDA prime sirloin with five breaded shrimp and comes with a dinner salad, choice of potato and the vegetable. The steak dinner minus the shrimp is also available for $10.99.

A price hike is now in effect at the Rio’s Carnival World Buffet. Breakfast is up a buck from $10.99 to $11.99, lunch is up from $11.99 to $14.99 and dinner and weekend brunch is now $19.99, up from $16.99.

The California downtown also tacks on an extra buck to their prime rib dinner special in the coffee shop. The former $5.99 meal deal that includes cherries jubilee for dessert is now up a buck to $6.99.

Also downtown, Krispy Kreme will replace the Jackpot Deli at Fitzgeralds and construction is expected to begin sometime this month.
