Summit to honor
most innovative products

The gaming industry’s most innovative products will be honored this week at the American Gaming Summit, which takes place Tuesday and Wednesday at the Four Seasons Hotel.

The Top 20 Most Innovative New Gaming Products Awards now in its seventh year sponsored by Casino Journal, recognizes the most innovative offerings in the gaming industry.

A panel of judges evaluated this year’s entries and has selected the 20 finalists, which will be whittled down to three at the 10th annual American Gaming Summit. Conference attendees will be given the chance to vote on their favorite products

From that voting, platinum, gold and silver medals for the Most Innovative New Gaming Products for 2003 will be awarded to the top three vote-getters.

The three winners will be honored during a breakfast ceremony on Wednesday.

The judges for this year’s competition were: John Ferrucci, vice president/general manager, Casino Magic Biloxi; Lee Skelley, assistant general manager, Barona Valley Ranch Resort-Casino; Frank Neborsky, vice president of slot operations, Mohegan Sun; and Dennis Conrad,president/chief strategist, Raving Consulting.

In other action, the American Gaming Summit will honor William S. Boyd in special ceremonies on Tuesday. Boyd will receive a special Lifetime Achievement Award.

Other highlights of the Summit include keynote addresses from Robb Goldstein, president of The Venetian resort and casino, and Frank Fahrenkopf, president of the American Gaming Association.

Other presenters include Gary Loveman, president and CEO of Harrah’s Entertainment, Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reforms, and Marc Falcone, managing director of Deutsche Bank Securities.

Now in its 10th year, the American Gaming Summit is devoted entirely to addressing issues that face the gaming industry: taxation, new legislation and regulations, political upheaval, competition from within and from outside the industry, Wall Street expectations and the unique issues of Indian gaming.
