Saturday Busch Series race features only one past Busch series Vegas winner and that’s last year’s champ, Joe Nemechek (5-1).
Eight Nextel Cup regulars will be participating in the race topped by co-favorites Kevin Harvick (3-1) and Matt Kenseth (3-1). Unlike the past, the Cup regulars don’t have as large an advantage with horsepower and chassis set-up.
There is a tremendous amount of value with several Busch series drivers in this race starting with Kyle Busch (12-1) who will be driving the Hendrick Motorsports No. 5 Chevy that won the Busch series championship last year.
Martin Truex Jr. (12-1) will be driving Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Busch car all season. Expect him to win a few races this year along with Bobby Hamilton Jr. (12-1) who will also be battling for the championship and can be expected to win at least three races this season.
Because most Las Vegas sportsbooks don’t book the Busch series weekly, there is a tremendous opportunity to find value due to the unfamiliarity books may have with the teams and drivers.
We’re going to look for Matt Kenseth to win in the No. 9 Roush car only because of the car’s past success at Vegas with two wins and overall Roush success. Following Kenseth, look for several Busch regulars to contend.
