Binion’s tries to revive old flavor

Binion’s Horseshoeis open again and back in business downtown, under the direction of new owner, Harrah’s Entertainment. Several good meal deals and customer favorites are still available at the snack bars including shrimp cocktail for $1.29, chili for $3 or sandwiches for $4.95. The current coffee shop specials include a chicken dinner for $5.95, prime rib $6.95, steak & shrimp $7.95, and steak & lobster $8.95. All specials are served from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. plus a ham & eggs special is served from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. for $1.95.

Summerlin celebrates Earth Day with it’s first-ever Earthfaire festival this Saturday, April 17. The event, held in Summerlin Centre Community Park, is free and open to the public and will feature displays with helpful tips about the environment as well as festival food, live entertainment and fun activities for the entire family. Downtown also has a "Surf & Turf" special available in the Coffee Shop at the Plaza. For $9.95, the bargain meal includes a cooked-to-order 8 ounce New York strip steak, two three-ounce baby lobster tails with drawn butter, French fries, and a breaded tomato. The special is available 24/7.

In honor of April’s National Poetry Month, kids 12 and under receive free admission to Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay when they present their original poem about their favorite animal at Shark Reef to the Shark Reef box office. Ellis Island Casino and Brewery is back to offering $1 drinks 24/7 to all comers at the Casino Bar and in the Lounge Bar from 3 a.m. to 9 p.m. Casino workers with a valid work ID can drink totally free from 3 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Casino Bar.
