Looking to streamline its operating structure, WMS Industries Inc. and its subsidiary WMS Gaming Inc. have announced several management promotions and appointments.
Effective immediately, were the following executive changes:
Orrin J. Edidin, executive vice president and COO, with responsibilities for all engineering and game development, gaming operations, North American sales and marketing;
Scott D. Schweinfurth, executive vice president, CFO and treasurer, who will to his financial responsibilities oversee the additional areas of human resources, corporate quality and performance measurement;
Seamus M. McGill, executive vice president and managing director of international operations with responsibility for the company’s new office in the United Kingdom;
Kathleen M. McJohn, vice president, general counsel and secretary with responsibility for all legal affairs;
Brian R. Pierce, vice president of North American sales;
Mark N. Jason, vice president of sales operations and product management;
Robert R. Rogowski, vice president and controller, and the additional responsibility for information technology.
In announcing the promotions and appointments, Brian Gamache, president and CEO, remarked, "Now that we have carefully navigated the last two years of focusing on our infrastructure and technology, it is time to effect greater emphasis on longer term strategies and growth initiatives."
At Boyd Gaming Corporation (BYD), it was announced that No. 2 man Don Snyder will retire as company president on March 31, 2005. Being groomed as his replacement is Keith Smith, current COO.
Jack Harkleroad, the person chosen last year by New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson to chair that state’s Gaming Control Board, died last week after suffering a heart attack. He was 62. There was no immediate announcement relative to filling his post.
