While not yet officially summer, the weather is hot, the pools are open and that means pool parties! Several casinos have begun their annual party-”˜round-the-pool festivities and what a fun, cheap way to go it is!
Pool parties at Terrible’s Hotel Casino began in April and will run throughout the summer. Established players at Terrible’s often receive direct mail complimentary pool party invitations, but Player’s Club members can also simply redeem 1500 slot club points to attend. The parties are held every Thursday beginning at 6 p.m. Every party features live entertainment, an open bar, and a buffet including fresh fruits, assorted salads, a dessert bar, and entrée selections of chicken, beef, and pork. At the end of each party, drawings are held for cash and prizes for party attendees.
The Flamingo Las Vegas is hosting "Sizzling Summer Pool Parties" at the resort’s Lagoon Pool in the 15-acre tropical gardens, wildlife habitat and pool complex every night all summer from 4 --8 p.m. Food and beverages are available for purchase and entertainment is by various local and celebrity DJ’s. The parties are free and open to the public.
Tuscany Casino is hosting "Reggae Wednesday Pool Side Parties." Every Wednesday night from 6-10 p.m. the party features entertainment by Caribbean Spice with co-sponsors of 97.1 The Point Radio. Party-goers can enjoy $2 Samuel Adams Beer, $2 Margaritas pina coladas, and fruit flavored Daiquiri’s. There are giveaways throughout the night and party goers can register to win a free trip for two to Hawaii. Admission to the goodtime parties is free and they are scheduled to run throughout the summer.
More pool parties will pop up as summer approaches. Suncoast will kick —off their annual poolside "Wild Wednesdays" on June 2.
Indoors, The Monte Carlo Pub & Brewery and KQOL 93.1 recently introduced "Thirsty Thursday," every Thursday night from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. through May 27. "Thirsty Thursday" differs from other nights of the week in the Pub & Brewery with all appetizers offered at half-price and a different specialty Vox Vodka Martini is featured each week for $5. All other martinis are priced $2 off.
Zippo from the "KQOL Zippo and Shari Morning Show" will be broadcasting live and will have CDs, DVDs and other prizes to giveaway. Guests can also enter to win a trip for two to San Diego, sponsored by Mike’s Hard Lemonade. The trip will include airfare, hotel stay and tickets to a San Diego Padres game. The grand-prize winner will be drawn on May 27 (winner need not be present to win).
