Coast christens new club

May 18, 2004 12:16 AM

Coast Casinoshas announced the long-awaited arrival of Club Coast, the new slot club linking Barbary Coast, Gold Coast, The Orleans and Suncoast, combining them into one club. The new Club Coast raises the point value of 4,000 points from $10 to $12, which can be used as cash back or as comp value at any one of the four current Coast properties. Club members’ old points from all four casinos transfer over at the new higher rate. Every dollar won (unlike most other clubs that award points on dollars played) on all slot, video and poker games is worth one point. Coast also announced food and other unique specials to reward customers when paying with their points. As an initial offering, through July 31, Monday through Thursday, 18 Coast restaurants will discount members’ meals by matching points up to 50 percent.

Members also receive 50 percent off seven days a week at all Coast showrooms, Kid’s Tyme day-care centers and all Coast hotel rooms. Discounts of 10 percent off are available to club members at liquor stores, bowling pro shops and Prestige Travel. Plus Coast Century Theatres offers 10 percent off Monday through Thursday on movie tickets. To receive the discounts, club members must pay the entire purchase with their points.

Downtown, the El Cortez May promotion is "Pyramid of Prizes." Jackie’s Club members hitting a $200 or more jackpot on slots or live keno or a $300 or higher jackpot on video poker receive a redemption ticket. Collect and redeem one ticket for a pearl necklace or bracelet. Two tickets will get you a pair of heart earrings, a heart pendant or a heart bracelet. There are a variety of gifts available for three, four, five and six tickets, and those lucky enough to get 10 tickets can redeem them for a special diamond horseshoe pendant. Plus, all ticket winners also earn an entry into the casino’s weekly Saturday Night Cash Wheel drawing in which 10 players are selected to spin the wheel and win up to $2,000.

The Hard Rock continues an excellent opportunity to earn double cash back points by playing on Sundays and Thursdays through the month of May. The casino has also opened a New Race and Sports Book complete with intimate seating, plasma screens, a video wall and glass enclosure separating it from the rest of casino.

Wild Wild West is collecting e-mail addresses and rewarding one of those addressees with a 19" television. Fill out and turn in an e-mail update entry form located throughout the casino. One winner will be drawn at the end of each month. If you win, care to guess how you’ll be notified? Via e-mail, of course!

Remember, "Luck seems to come to those who prepare for it!" This week’s Bonus Point Days are listed on page 6.
