Eat for the price of Happy Meal

For the past four months Station Casinos’ Wildfire Casino (on Rancho Drive across from Texas Station) has been offering super specials for casino industry workers with great, late night cheap food and beverage specials. The good deals will remain in effect for May and June, too! The 49¡ late night specials run Sunday through Thursday from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. and include well drinks, draft beer, ham, turkey or grilled cheese sandwiches, slices of pizza, and breakfast items such as eggs and toast, sides of bacon, or pancakes.

For everyone, not just casino workers, Wildfire Casino also offers an array of additional bargain delights. They also serve a complete sirloin steak dinner for $5.99 and the "All-you-can-eat BBQ" on Sundays from noon until 6 p.m. for only $7.99. Finally, for quick and on the go, try the $2.49 one pound burger and fries platter for just $2.49 available anytime you’re hungry.

Downtown, good specials are turning up while prices are coming down. Besides the Plaza’s long-running diner coffee shop surf and turf special, Jackie Gaughan’s El Cortez (no longer related to the Plaza due to the recent sale to Barrick Gaming) is now offering the same deal in Careful Kitty’s Cafe. Both offers are available 24 hours a day for $9.95. The bargain meal includes a cooked-to-order 8-ounce New York strip steak, two three-ounce slipper lobster tails with drawn butter, French fries, and a breaded stuffed tomato. Good eatin’!

Also downtown, Fitzgeralds Shamrock Café is serving daily lunch specials for just $5.99. But Fitzgeralds best current bargain play is the lunch buffet, served in Shamrock’s for just $5.99, but watch for price increases expected by early summer.
