Super Bowl champ Giants still 20-1

Apr 20, 2008 7:47 PM

by Mark Mayer | If the Las Vegas books are right, the New York Giants appear to have a one-year run as Super Bowl champs. The Las Vegas Hilton lists the G-men at 20-1 to repeat as NFL champion. New York and Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning open the regular season Thursday, Sept. 4 at Washington. The Giants opened as a 4-point favorite.

Caesars Palace is a bit kinder to the Giants, listed at 8-1. Super Bowl runner-up New England is favored at both resorts – the Patriots are 7-2 at the Hilton and 9-5 at Caesars. The Hilton has Indianapolis, San Diego and Dallas as the next choices at 6-1. The Colts and Dallas are 4-1 at Caesars, followed by San Diego at 6-1.

The Green Bay Packers, in their first season without Brett Favre, are 15-1 at Caesars and 25-1 at the Hilton. Jacksonville, whose Super Bowl bid was halted in New England last year, is 8-1 at Caesars and 14-1 at the Hilton. The Chicago Bears, Super Bowl finalists two years ago, are 15-1 at Caesars and 30-1 at the Hilton.

Super Bowl 43 will be played in Tampa, Florida with the Hilton listing the AFC as a 6½-point favorite over the NFC representative with the total at 51½. Here’s the complete list as of April 20.
