At Santa Anita, it was getaway day and that’s exactly what happened to our money. We had some nice shots, though. Our pick in race one didn’t run a step, but we had the winner in the second, forgiveandforget, for $6.40. In the fifth, one of our horses in the superfecta was scratched – we had the winner but couldn’t catch the super. In the sixth our horse didn’t care for the grass and ran up the track. Keep an eye out for the Mike Mitchell-trained Sting’n In the Rain when she gets back on the cushion track. We came close to a nice score in the eighth but our key horse was caught up in a speed duel and just missed for the place with the winner paying $34.40, and the $1 tri paying $485.70. I hate to run first second and third and not cash! We were split again in the tenth with another big price as we had the winner again, No. 5, Big Booster, who paid $16. We won the last race with No. 6, Stormy Taters, for $7, and the late double paid $49.20. We will be back on Wednesday with the opening day at Hollywood Park. As for Bay Meadows they should just rename the track "R. Baze Meadows" before they close it.
