Play of the Day for Monday, April 21, 2008

Apr 21, 2008 8:05 PM

Washington Nationals at Atlanta Braves (-196, 9u -121 LVH): Atlanta ace Tim Hudson (2-1, 3.37 ERA) has Washington’s number, going 6-1 lifetime (1.11 ERA) versus the Nationals including an impressive 3-0 shutout on April 11 in the first meeting of the year. Atlanta’s Chipper Jones is absolutely tearing it up early, leading the Major’s in hitting (.455) with six home runs and 18 RBI’s into Sunday.

The poor Nationals still have MLB’s worst record (5-14), are a woeful 3-9 on the road and have now lost 12 of their last 14 games. Washington starts Matt Chico (0-3, 4.81), who went toe-to-toe with Hudson in that April 11th meeting and despite his winless start, has some pretty solid numbers himself. Let’s double dip on this one with two solid pitchers dueling and the worst team in baseball as an automatic go-against. BRAVES, UNDER 9.
