Good Strip deals are getting harder and harder to find. It’s not your dad’s Las Vegas anymore. One casino seems to remain as a throw-back to earlier times. Slots-A-Fun Casino, located next door to Circus Circus, continues to offer bargain basement deals like 99-cent half-pound hot dogs, $1 Heineken, 75-cent frozen Margaritas and 75-cent bottled water. Even table games like blackjack offer the lowest limits on the Strip with $1, $3 and $5 tables. And the gift shop sells used decks of playing cards from many casinos around Las Vegas for 75-cents. Collecting the cards, trading them and selling them can be a profitable little hobby. Just check out all the souvenir Las Vegas items being sold on eBay sometime! For the July 4th holiday, the casino will be distributing small flags free of charge to guests throughout the casino while supplies last.
Another dog and brew deal is running at the Stage Door Casino located between the Bourbon Street Hotel Casino and the Barbary Coast on Flamingo, just east of the Strip. Get a half-pound hot dog and an ice cold Heineken for $2.50.
Speaking of the Barbary Coast, all drinks at the bars this month are $1. Watch the outdoor marquee for this popular summertime special for them. It seems to come and go without much advance notice or warning.
Be a hero and treat yourself too! Station Casinos is rewarding "blood donor heroes" with a free Feast buffet. Through June 25, all blood donors receive a free Feast buffet certificate to use at your favorite Station or Fiesta Casino buffet. Call United Blood Services at (702) 233-9620 for an appointment or more information, but walk-ins are always welcome too.
Good deals for locals. The Rio is offering reduced buffet prices for Las Vegas locals through June. These special prices for the all-new Carnival World Buffet apply to Sunday through Thursday only: Breakfast $4.99, Lunch $6.99, Dinner $9.99 and Sunday Brunch $9.99. You must present a valid Las Vegas ID to receive the special prices.
Finally, Laugh Trax at Palace Station is offering free comedy shows for Las Vegas locals on Friday nights. For more information, call Palace Station at (702) 367-2411.
Until next time, "Eat well, play well, stay well!"
