If you want a solid tip or a good stiff drink, simply head over to the bar outside the MGM Race and Sports and ask for Max.

"The two draft picks made New England’s (offensive) line 100 percent better, plus getting (Corey) Dillon gives the Patriots that running back they’ve never had," said Max, who just happens to be a Boston area native. "(Ty) Law is returning, so it’s just a matter of keeping (Tom) Brady healthy at quarterback."

Now, these aren’t just the partisan rants from an expert barkeep. Max has had his share of wins on the gaming circuit, which I can account for since he has fed me some.

Max is already doing his homework to prepare for the college and NFL season. I’m partial to Max because he was one of the first people I met when moving to Las Vegas and he kindly showed me the ropes. He knows a bit about everything going on at MGM and is extremely popular with the employees at the hotel. And, that’s saying something. So visit the Mighty Max and bring a scorecard
