The pending Shaquille O’Neal deal to Miami has stolen all the NBA headlines, but one Las Vegas oddsmaker feels Tracy McGrady to Houston makes a greater impact.
"Houston upgraded significantly with McGrady," Las Vegas Sports Consultants NBA guru Tony Sinisi said. "Houston should go down to 10-1 with that deal. Orlando was so high (75-1 at the Hilton) it won’t matter. Miami would be 20-1 or 15-1."
The Lakers opened at 9-5 and stood at 4-1 or 9-2 depending on where you shop. Sinisi said a big loser would be Cleveland, which could go from 30-1 to 60-1 if they lose Carlos Boozer to Utah. "That would be a major blow to the Cavaliers," Sinisi said.
LVSC’s golf analyst Jason Been likes Ernie Els (13-2) in the British Open but would not bet him. "There is value betting the field because you have a greater chance with the Europeans," he said. "They know the golf course better than the Americans and there are more of them." Jason likes Phillip Price, Thomas Bjorn and Ian Poulter if solo prices are set.
