Split It and Hit It

Jul 20, 2004 1:53 AM

Among the new video poker games to hit the floor, Split It and Hit It Poker from IGT offers the stability of a single-hand game but with multi-hand action!

For a video poker game that’s fun, filled with "you gotta see this" excitement, and rewarding Five Play action, the Split It And Hit It Poker game is a hands-down winner!

This game plays just like regular single-hand video poker, but with a surprising twist. When certain qualifying cards are dealt with maximum coins bet, players are given the option of playing out the single hand or splitting it into five separate hands, with the initial wager divided equally among the five hands.

If you go for the split, the qualifying cards from the initial deal appear in all bonus hands. Additional cards are then drawn to complete each bonus hand, and you are paid for each hand according to the bonus paytable.

Here’s how it works: a five-credit max bet qualifies you for the Split It And Hit It bonus. The Bonus offer is initiated with a dealt two pair or jacks or better in one version of the game.

In the alternate game version, the bonus offer is initiated when you are dealt three-of-a-kind or a full house.

When the "Split It" offer is accepted, the dealt hand splits into five, one-credit hands.

You receive five draws — each from a separate 52-card deck — and are paid for the one-credit wager on the result of each hand.

Certain combinations, such as drawing to three full houses, pay a bonus.

Four-of-a-kinds and full houses are counted as three-of-a-kinds and two pairs if this results in a larger bonus pay.

When the bonus is triggered by a dealt two pair that also contains a pair of aces, or a pair of jacks, queens, kings or both, you are given a choice of bonus paytables.

Game families in which you can play Split It and Hit It Poker include the Double Bonus Poker, Double Double Bonus Poker, Bonus Poker Deluxe, and Jacks or Better themes.
