You can sign up at Bally’s for their Pick 6 Club racing contest for nothing. That’s a bargain anywhere, anyhow. The contest kicks in whenever there is a carryover of $100,000 at either Del Mar or Saratoga. "A carryover at Del Mar could take just one day on a weekend," said John Avello, the race and sports director of operations at Bally’s. "Valet parking, use of the book, the race are all free. No hitches." Check with Bally’s for track updates.

Caesars Palace has done the LV Hilton one better by listing both Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson ahead of Tiger Woods in its PGA Championship individual odds. Els is 5-1, Mickelson 6-1 and Woods 7-1. The field is a 4-1 favorite for the PGA, set for Aug. 12-15 at Whistling Straits Country Club in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin.

Champion Erik Morales is an overwhelming favorite (-430) over Carlos Hernandez to retain the WBC and IBF Superfeatherweight titles this Saturday at the MGM Grand. A Morales win will hopefully bring a third fight with Marco Antonio Barrera.
