Don’t miss out on club specials

Aug 10, 2004 5:37 AM

Even if you’re not much of a gambler, one good way to do Las Vegas on the cheap is just being a member of the various slot clubs. In addition to receiving offers by mail that often include discounts for meals and shows, the club benefits may also include some unique perks. For example, this month through August 31, just by presenting your club card, Stratosphere Ultimate Rewards members receive free admission to the top of the Stratosphere Tower, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Arizona Charlie’s Boulder and Decatur are part of the same club and are included too.

Another free deal for club members can be found at the Four Queens Reel Winners Club in downtown Las Vegas. They give club members a 2-for-1 lunch or dinner voucher for Magnolia’s during your birthday month. In addition, club member or not, take a free pull on the Four Queens promotional video poker machines located just inside the entrances. You have a chance (albeit slim) to win up to $10,000 instantly, but you’ll also receive a coupon sheet good for discounts and specials for the casino, gift shop and restaurants. The current set of coupons includes a free gift. On my last visit, the gift was a nice luggage tag.

You’ll find cheap beer, too! The El Cortez is serving premium draught specials like 12 oz. Fat Tire and Newcastle for $1.75.

Meanwhile, back on the Strip, after a long absence Imperial Palace has returned to good old fashioned Happy Hours. From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily, 2-for-1 drinks are served at most of the 10 casino bars including Tequila Joe’s located at the entrance to the casino.

You’ll find more good happy hour deals at PT’s Pubs located across the valley. Guests are invited to enjoy 16 oz. domestic draught beers, well drinks and the shot of the month all for only $2 each. For hungry patrons, any of PT’s specialty pizzas are available for half price. The signature 1 lb. popcorn chicken appetizer, made with delicious seasoned bite-sized chicken with a PT’s twist on the traditional favorite is only $2. Happy hour is offered from 4-6 p.m. and 4-6 a.m. daily at all 27 PT’s locations.

Last but not least, here’s another cool Strip offer to enjoy. Wolfgang Puck’s newly remodeled Chinois inside Caesars Palace Forum Shops is inviting everyone to experience Happy Hour Sunday through Friday from 3-5 p.m. through the end of September. During this time, Chinois is offering the following Happy Hour specials: $5 cocktails, $3 beers, 50% off appetizers and 20% off everything on the menu, including alcoholic beverages.

Until next time, eat well, play well, stay well.
