Doing Las Vegas on the cheap can be helped along by a variety of sources — from coupons and funbooks to advertisements (and unadvertised specials), e-mails, direct mail, slot club specials and even word of mouth. You just never know what might turn up and how you can save an extra buck or two!
For example, dine at Jillian’s at Neonopolis and take your receipt to the Cashman Field box office and receive two free tickets to the 51’s baseball game of your choice. This special offer expires Aug. 29. While you’re there, register for the free sweepstakes for a chance at free play-off tickets, too.
Or you can give blood and get a pie! Donate blood on any Monday in August and you’ll receive a free Marie Callender’s pie for your good deed. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments make it easy. Call 702-233-9620 to make an appointment.
Of course, casinos are a favorite for offering good deals. Santa Fe Station is running a half points deal for Boarding Pass members on early bird dinning at Cabo Cantina and the Grand Café. Dine at either restaurant Sunday through Thursday between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and pay with your points at half the regular point cost.
Another Station special is running at Barley’s Casino & Brewery in Henderson. Just show your Barley’s Rewards players card (free to join) in the cafe and go for the $5.99 sirloin steak dinner which includes mashed potatoes and vegetable. Make sure you have the player’s card. You must present it to get the special deal. The offer runs through the month of August.
Downtown, the Plaza now offers a new Celebrity Champagne Brunch on Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for $14.95 per person. Hosted by former Magnum PI’s Larry Manetti, the brunch features surprise celebrity guests and weekly performances. The brunch is held in the Plaza showroom.
On the Strip, Gilley’s at the New Frontier is running a new "Early Bird Special," that includes half a rotisserie chicken served with baked beans and corn bread for just $5.95. The special is available daily, but only from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
