A defending champ carrying the longest odds in a field of 16! Sounds like more convincing is needed.

We’ll know soon enough when GamingToday Managing Editor David Stratton and Steve Fessik face off Sept. 10 in a rematch of last year’s Stardust Invitational final.

Stratton won the $10,000 first prize a year ago as the No. 16 seed and faces the same challenge in this 10th edition of the winner-take-all football handicapping tournament.

Stratton is the longest shot (+1710) according to an offshore book that has placed odds on the 17-week event. Fessik is a -126 favorite in his opening week matchup with Stratton and top choice (+777) to win the title. More next week.
