Rudy Prieto, CEO and general manager of the Las Vegas Hilton, has firmed up his management staff with the confirmation of recent appointments.
Named director of Latin American Marketing was Sara Munoz who has spent the past dozen years developing sales and Latin American marketing strategies in the casino industry. Most recently, Munoz was part of the marketing team at Paris Hotel & Casino.
Other recent appointments at the Las Vegas Hilton included Tom Page, senior vice president of sales; Ben Sasaki, vice president of food and beverage operations; Joe Giaimo, vice president of casino operations, and Jay Kornegay, executive director of the race and sports SuperBook.
In another recent appointment, Penn National Gaming Inc. (PENN) named Albert T. Britton as general manager of Charles Town Races and Slots facility in Charles Town, West Virginia.
Britton joins the company from Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. (HET) as an executive with the Showboat Casino Hotel in Atlantic City. He previously was president and COO of the Claridge Casino Hotel in Atlantic City.
The National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) has named D.G. Van Clief Jr. as its commissioner, succeeding Tim Smith who resigned on Sept. 1.
Van Clief, who has been an executive with NTRA for the past couple of years, had been serving as acting commission and CEO since Smith’s departure.
