Blaze at Voodoo: Nobody in the AFL allows more points (66.1 PPG) than the Blaze and covers less (1-5-1 ATS, 16.7%). The Voodoo are one of five AFL teams to actually score more than they give up (+9.3 PPG). VOODOO. (BEST BET)

Rush at Crush: Picking the same old teams, just a different week. Now if they could just avoid those cursed back-door covers … Chicago (5-2 SU) should win by about the 10-point average it did against Colorado (1-4 ATS) last season (9, 11). Note Colorado games were 4-1-1 OVER the total heading into Week 8 (last week). RUSH.

Avengers at SaberCats: SJ swept LA last year, clobbering the Avengers, 73-49 in San Jose. LA is not the same – nor are the SaberCats – but the homeboys need this one to retain their recent dominance in the Western Conference. And Greib & Co. can play a little better than they have so far. SABERCATS.

Desperados at Soul (ESPN): The Game of the Year in the AFL, but no ArenaBowl preview, this battle of the undefeated may not be the Dolezel-Graziani duel expected but backup QBs Sanders (18 TDs/3 INTs) and D’Orazio (26/2) have filled in more than adequately in their stead. Dolezel is back from an injury and the Soul’s Graziani is close, so maybe the two top teams with their starting QB’s is a possibility.

Dallas only won in Philly by three last year but will want to prove its’ still the team to go through in the National Conference. Lean toward Jerry Jones’ boys over Jon Bon Jovi’s in this high-profile contest. DESPERADOS.
