Tide falls in Kentucky

Alabama (-4½) at Ky: When a team starts to go bad in early October there at times are a myriad of problems that should be addressed. Sometimes they are corrected and at other times there is not much you can do.

With the injury to QB Brodie Croyle two weeks ago and some of the boosters saying, "So what that Mike Price went to a few strip clubs," I think you see where I am leaning.  Alabama was poised to take their rightful place in the upper crust of college football. However, bad decision making against Arkansas a few weeks ago and completely being outclassed by Lou Holtz might make it a long two months.

This week’s game with Kentucky and possibly Mississippi State (Nov. 6 at home) might be the only competitive contest where the Tide will be favored. Kentucky surely struggled against Ohio but look for Shane Boyd to have a big game here. Bama defeated the Wildcats last year as a 14-point home favorite, 27-17.

Once again look for this number (opened at 6) to drop during the week and let’s hope that Shula starts Marc Guillon at QB again. KENTUCKY.

Take care, Jimmy V.

Last week: 1-0
