Birthdays are always special, but maybe even more so for gamblers in Las Vegas. Nevada Palace offers perhaps the best birthday promotion in the city, especially if you are a player. Report to the Player’s Circle promotion booth on your birthday and start off with a free logo T-shirt, coffee mug, 500 slot club points ($1.25 value) and a helium balloon. You will also receive a voucher valid for double pay (up to $1,000) if you hit a royal flush on your special day and another coupon voucher good for an extra 10 percent bonus on all hand-paid jackpots that day. Blackjack players get paid 2-1 instead of 3-2 on all blackjacks ($5 bets only) on your birthday. If you return the following day, you’ll receive a second prize balloon that may include anything from coin bonuses to hotel stays, gifts and possibly a leather jacket.

Combine your birthday visit with a stop at Willy & Jose’s at Sam’s Town (next-door to Nevada Palace on Boulder Highway) for another great deal. The birthday special is a free T-shirt, free Margarita and a free dessert with a minimum $10 entrée purchase.

Terrible’s car wash’s will also treat you right on your birthday. Join the Customer Rewards program for free and get a free car wash on your birthday!

The Imperial Palace is planning a unique "Scary-Okee Halloween Karaoke Party." The IP’s Karaoke Club invites everyone to join in on the fright night fun and share their musical talents on Saturday, Oct. 30 from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. with hosts "Rotten Rusty" and "Scary Barry."

The best male and female costumes voted by the audience will each win $100, and additional prizes will be available for the Wheel of Terror air guitar contest. Drink specials will be offered throughout the night, including blood shooters, purple people eaters and scary-okee punch. Admission to the party is $10 and includes a complimentary blood shooter, and karaoke contestants can take their Halloween memories home on DVD for $10. Costumes are optional.

How fitting! Suncoast wants your blood for Halloween! But blood donors will be handsomely rewarded with plenty of Halloween treats. A community blood drive will be held on Halloween, Sunday, October 31, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Suncoast’s Grand Ballroom. Everyone who donates will receive a free breakfast or lunch buffet, glow-in-the-dark T-shirt and necklace and a treat bag. Donors can make appointments by calling 702-636-7100 or 702-228-8400 ext. 221. Of course, walk-ins are always welcome.
