It’s the holiday season and one good place to start finding the Christmas spirit is Sam’s Town. Every year Mystic Falls is magically transformed into a holiday light and sound show with colorful decorated trees and the sounds of Christmas filling the air. Best of all, it’s always a free attraction! Take the kids and enjoy yourself.

Downtown holiday festivities will officially kick off next week and we’ll be sure to bring you all the details. In the meantime, several downtown casinos are offering excellent meal deal specials that everyone can enjoy.

Another tradition that’s friendly on the pocket book is Lance Burton’s annual markdown for locals. Just show a Nevada I.D. and you can buy tickets to Burton’s great show at the Monte Carlo for $30 apiece, about half the normal price. The special is good Tuesday through Saturday.

The Plaza Diner, for instance, is running a round-the-clock special on a complete prime rib dinner for just $7.95, or live it up and go for the steak and lobster special for just two bucks more. Late night, the Diner offers N.Y. steak and eggs for $6.99 or a giant grilled ham steak special served with eggs for only $5.99. The late-nighters are available from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Across the street, the Plaza’s sister casino, the Vegas Club, offers a 20-ounce T-bone steak special available 24 hours in the Upper Deck restaurant for just $10.95. And if you love playing keno, get a free breakfast any day of the week with a keno ticket purchase of $20 or more from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. There is a limit of one free breakfast per person per day.

Casino MonteLago at Lake Las Vegas is making breakfast cheap, too. So cheap that it’s free! Hit the all-new MonteLago Breakfast Club every Tuesday in he Tappo Lounge from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and get coffee, tea, orange juice, mini-muffins, Danish and donuts are free of charge to all Club Uno members.

Texas Station has introduced a new happy hour at the Texas Star Oyster Bar. Every Monday and Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. enjoy an appetizer and two draft beers for only $10.99. Guests also receive a free mug as a gift with any draft purchase. On top of all that, Gordon Biersch provides giveaways during the happy hour events.

Until next time, eat well, play well, stay well.
