Legends swarm into Bell Gardens

Legends of Poker, one of the most anticipated tournament series on the World Poker Tour, is currently underway at the Bicycle Hotel & Casino in Bell Gardens, California.

The first event was a $350 Deepstack with a $100,000 guarantee. Players began with 50,000 chips. This opening event attracted 477 entries and with a prize pool of $138,807, smashing the posted guarantee.

The final six players agreed to a deal with Michael Levin taking home $17,937 for first place. The other payouts are:

The $200,000 guarantee No-Limit Hold’em event was a multi-flight tournament that ran from Saturday through Monday and featured a $240 buy-in. Players started with 20,000 chips.

Players who qualified more than once received $1,500. Day 2 begins on Tuesday at 1 p.m. and features a direct buy-in for $1,500 and 130,000 chips. Also on Tuesday at 4 p.m. is a $240 No-Limit Hold’em Bounty with $100 bounties.

Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. is a $240 No-Limit Hold’em tournament with a $50,000 guarantee. At 2 p.m. there is a $235 H.O.R.S.E. event for the mixed-games specialists.

On Thursday at 2 p.m. is a $235 Limit Big O (five-card Omaha) tournament.

The $240 No-Limit Hold’em with a $500,000 guarantee begins on Friday at 11:30 a.m. Day 1 flights run through Tuesday, Aug. 8. Players who advance to Day 2 get $400 cash. Players who qualify more than once will receive $1,500.

Day 2 begins on Wednesday, Aug. 9 at 1 p.m. Players can directly buy-in for $1,700 and begin with 200,000 chips. Wednesday also features a $240 PLO 8 or Better at 11:30 a.m.

The much-anticipated Mega Millions XVII begins on Friday, Aug. 11 at 11:30 a.m. A second flight starts at 4 p.m. Both of these flights feature a $160 buy-in with 10% of the field in the money and 5% advancing to Day 2.

For $550, players can play the 2 p.m. flight and receive 25,000 chips with 10% advancing to Day 2.
