Fantasy control to Major Tom Brady

October 13, 2015 3:05 AM

New England Patriots Tom BradyDid everyone see the Devonta Freeman overturned touchdown? Change the rule! Solid diamonds last week both Willie Snead and Antonio Andrews hit but Calvin Johnson (sitting out the majority of the fourth…ugh) and Owen Daniels’ goose egg, crushed my chances of making any big money this weekend.

Captain Obvious

Tom Brady, QB, NE (FD $9,000; DK $8,100): Tom Brady is a man seeing red. Everytime he throws the ball or scores a touchdown it’s like he is seeing Roger Goodell on the defensive side of the ball. Now he goes on the road at rival Indianapolis. With the Colts struggling and Luck questionable (I think he plays) the Patriots will want to make another statement on Sunday Night Football. Look for a big time shootout if Luck plays. Projection: 31-41, 403 yards, 4TDs.

Diamonds in the Rough

Theo Riddick, RB, Det (FD $5,000; DK $3,300): The Lions are a complete mess. Matthew Stafford is finally being exposed for the fraud he is, now that Megatron has devolved from a superior robotic athlete to a mere human. Stafford is checking down like crazy giving Riddick a bunch of targets. He’s averaging 7 catches a game the past four weeks. Theo’s a nice bargain against Chicago. Projection: 8 catches, 67 yards, TD.

Tyler Lockett, WR, Sea (FD $5,100; DK $3,200): The Seahawks have had a crazy start to their season, the fact is they are much better than their 2-3 record suggests. They really need this game against Carolina and I think Lockett could be looking at his breakout game. With Panthers new star corner Josh Norman causing chaos in the secondary, he should erase Jermaine Kearse and/or Doug Baldwin from fantasy value. That means targets an opportunity for Lockett. Projection: 6-147-1.
