Indiana has become the second state to send a daily fantasy sports bill to the governor for his signature.
The bill passed by what was described in one news report as an “overwhelming majority” in both houses. The speculation is that he may let it become law without his signature. The Indiana Gaming Commission will oversee daily fantasy operations.
Gov. Mike Pence is a Republican and Republicans hold majorities in both chambers. Pence has previously said he is opposed to the expansion of gaming, but of course the DFS operators said their contests are based on skill.
Griffin Finan, the director of public affairs for DraftKings, said, “We are pleased with the progress in Indiana,” and look forward to working wit h officials there.
