For the second straight week it looks like another solid winner in USFantasy.
Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart piled up 180 USFantasy points after going off at 23-1 in Prop No. 7. When I gave him out on GamingToday.com on Saturday he was at 17-1. Three can still catch Stewart – two Bears running backs Jordan Howard (20-1) and Ka’Deem Carey (33-1), and the Vikings RB Matt Asiata (4-1). Assuming those three don’t go wild Stewart should pay around $48-$50 for a $2 bet.
Two of my other picks finished second barring the result of the Monday night game. Cowboys QB Dak Prescott sits in 2nd at 6-1, with the Bears QB Jay Cutler and Vikings QB Sam Bradford still to go. While Cowboys WR Dez Bryant, 16-1, is also in second place with Bears WR Alshon Jeffery still to play, there is a reason I suggest across the board (WIN, PLACE, SHOW) bets.
Taking a look at some of the results currently in: Raiders QB Derek Carr paid $25.20 to win Prop No. 1, while Cardinals QB Carson Palmer took second and his PLACE price was $51.40! Both payouts were for $2. Speaking of big payouts, how about the two quarterbacks in an EXACTA – $881!
In Prop No. 2 Jets RB Matt Forte again tops the running back category for the second straight week with a $21.80 WIN payout, coming off his $205.20 WIN Week 7! Chargers RB Melvin Gordon’s PLACE price was $43.80. The payout on Forte and Gordon’s EXACTA was $644.20. The DAILY DOUBLE between Prop No. 1 winner Carr and Prop No. 2 winner Forte paid $269.80.
Last week: 1-3
Eagles-Giants OV 43: Giants come off a bye week to prepare for the Eagles, who last time out suffered a heartbreaking loss in Dallas. Both teams should have success moving the football.
Colts-Packers OV 53: I expect another shootout; hopefully the Packers get back Ty Montgomery as without him they cannot run the football. Lucky for Green Bay they still have Aaron Rodgers, who is capable of throwing the ball well 50 times. Andrew Luck will have to toss it around to keep pace with Rodgers, Green Bay on the road.
Titans-Chargers OV 47: Tennessee will want to keep San Diego off the field but I think they will actually run all over the Charger defense, which will lead to faster than usual scoring for the Titans. The only problem is that equals more opportunities for Phillip Rivers.
Spread of the Week – Colts +7: I have been down on the Colts. I think the Packers are the same type of team, overrated and just don’t have much on defense.
