DraftKings is planning to launch its Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) games in Ireland over the coming months, according to media reports.
The Boston-headquartered company’s chief international officer, Jeffrey Haas, confirmed the site is expecting to roll out its gaming service before the end of the year, although a launch date has not been set.
He declined to reveal how much money the company plans to invest in its Irish launch, saying, “It’s early days.”
DraftKings and major competitor FanDuel recently had their merger plans squashed by U.S. government regulators. In recent weeks, both companies have regrouped as additional U.S. jurisdictions have set up new laws defining the DFS product with subsequent legalization.
